Saga on Köpmansgatan in central Höganäs is one of Sweden's oldest cinemas, and the room itself is reason enough to go. The salon was built in 1883 as a theater for the old Hotel Schweiz, and the first film was shown here on 6 January 1899.

Apart from the seats and lamps, much of the interior is original from 1883. There is a single screen, so a night at Saga feels far from a multiplex.
What's on
Saga shows current Swedish and international releases, with around 20 Swedish premieres a year, plus school screenings. Höganäs filmstudio, a non-profit film society, shows quality films here for its members.
Worth knowing
Saga is a small, independently run cinema outside the big chains. Booked tickets must be collected at the box office at least 20 minutes before the film starts.
