The harbor porpoise, a small toothed whale about 1.5 m long, lives in the waters around Kullaberg all year. It hunts fish among the stone reefs and soft seabed around the headland, which brings it close to the cliffs.

Kullen Lighthouse and the cliffs around it are among the best places in Sweden to see one. Pick a calm day, look for a small dark dorsal fin rolling at the surface, and give it time.
By boat
Kullabergsguiderna runs RIB safaris along the cliffs from Mölle harbor and from the shore below Naturum Kullaberg. Porpoises usually stay around 20 m from the boat, and sightings are likely but never guaranteed. Seabirds are almost a given; with luck you may also see seals or a peregrine falcon. Calves are born around midsummer and are often seen beside their mothers, so boaters should slow down and keep their distance.
Orcas?
Very rarely. A single orca seen in the Öresund in August 2024 was the first report that far south since 2012. The porpoise is the whale you will meet here.
