You can sleep out on the Kulla Peninsula at a campsite by the sea, in a simple shelter along Kullaleden or at the small tent site near Kullen Lighthouse, at the tip of Kullaberg. In summer, Arilds Vingård also rents glamping tents among its vines.

Seven overnight spots lie on or near Kullaleden. On Kullaberg you can pitch a tent at the tent site or sleep in the shelters at Josefinelust and Himmelstorp. Elsewhere along the trail there are shelters at Skäret, Strandbaden and Domsten, and a rest cabin near Farhult.

Before you go

None of the shelters or the tent site can be booked, and the ones on Kullaberg are often full on summer weekends. Bring water: most taps at the shelters run only April–October, the Josefinelust tap is not drinking water and Himmelstorp has none. On Kullaberg, fill up at Naturum Kullaberg while it is open (1 May–1 November in 2026) or, April–October, at the tap in Ransvik; the harbor taps in Mölle and Arild run all year. Firewood is not guaranteed at any grill spot, so bring your own wood or charcoal. Mölle and Arild have no grocery store, so buy food before you set out.

Rules on Kullaberg

Kullaberg is a nature reserve with stricter rules than elsewhere:

  • Tentsonly at the tent site, which has room for about eight tents and is meant mainly for hikers; keep it quiet at night
  • Sheltersyou may sleep in the shelters at Josefinelust and Himmelstorp, but not put up a tent, tarp or hammock there
  • Vehiclesyou may not sleep in a motorhome, caravan, campervan or rooftop tent, and motorhomes, caravans, light trucks and campervans with built-in beds may not park 10 pm–6 am, all year. Cars may stay overnight under the October 2026 rules, but earlier summers had a night ban for cars, so check before a summer visit
  • Firegrill or use a spirit or gas stove only at the fixed grill spots at the lighthouse car park, Josefinelust, Björkeröd and Himmelstorp, and never during a strict fire ban (skärpt eldningsförbud)
  • Dogson a leash all year

In August 2025 Länsstyrelsen, the county board, proposed new rules that would limit stays at the tent site to one night, allow camping stoves anywhere in the reserve and shorten the motorhome night ban to midnight–5 am. They had not been decided by October 2026.

Wild camping and motorhomes

Sweden's right of public access (allemansrätten) normally lets you pitch a tent for a night in the countryside, but along Kullaleden there is in practice nowhere to do so. Every coastal nature reserve bans tents (Kullaberg allows them only at its tent site), and Höganäs municipality's local rules ban camping and sleeping outdoors in public places, including its nature areas and beaches. Use a shelter, the tent site or a campsite instead.

With a motorhome, stay at a campsite or at one of the municipality's marked stopovers (ställplatser), such as the one by Höganäs harbor. The closest to Kullaberg is by the chapel at the entrance to Mölle, open 1 June–31 August in 2026.
