Allerum is a farming parish at the base of the peninsula, just north of Helsingborg and outside Höganäs municipality. Its inland village, grown together with neighboring Hjälmshult, is mainly a residential community, so think of Allerum as a stretch of countryside rather than a destination in itself.

Allerum church was built in the late 1100s or early 1200s, and people have lived on the surrounding plain since the Stone Age: some 45 Stone Age settlement sites are known in the parish. Lottenlund Estate grows vines near the village and holds wine tastings.
Toward the coast
The parish reaches the Öresund at the old fishing village of Domsten. On the way lies the Kulla Gunnarstorp estate, whose wooded ravines are a nature reserve, and Beredskapsmuseet, a museum of Sweden's wartime preparedness inside an underground Second World War coastal battery. The Kullaleden trail passes Kulla Gunnarstorp on its way from Helsingborg to Höganäs.
