Viken beach

Vikens havsbad is the main beach in Viken, south of Höganäs: about 750 meters of sand on the Öresund just north of the old village, backed by a belt of grassy shore heath. The north end is the sandiest; stones become more common toward the south.

Swimming

The bottom is sandy and shallow in several places, with a little seaweed and stone, and several jetties make it easy to reach deeper water. Lisas brygga stands on the southern stretch. The water quality is rated excellent.

Around the beach

• The viewacross the Öresund to the Danish coast, with Svinbådan lighthouse, in service since 1960, standing on a shoal offshore
• Svanebäckanother long, shallow sandy beach just north, with a dog beach next to it

The Kattegattleden cycle route and the Kullaleden trail both pass by, and the old lanes and half-timbered houses of Gamla Viken are a short walk south.
