Nabbenslingan, the Nabben loop, is an easy walk of about 5 km on the quiet north coast between Arild and Skäret. It follows the rocky coastal heath of Nabben nature reserve, with wide views over Skälderviken bay, and returns along village lanes and through the old pastures of Skäret nature reserve. Länsstyrelsen, the county administrative board that manages both reserves, recommends it to families and birdwatchers and as a calmer alternative to Kullaberg's busier trails. Allow about 1.5 hours.

A good start is the car park by Flickorna Lundgren in Skäret. Follow Skäretslingan's blue markers about 100 m west to the red markers; the loop can be walked either way. Heading north, the two loops share the path to Skäret harbor, where Nabbenslingan turns west along the shore into Nabben. For about 1.5 km it runs with Kullaleden over rocky coastal heath and shingle.
Toward the western end of Nabben, the Bronze Age mounds of Nabbahögarna lie just off the path, and on the edge of Arild, Arildslingan joins from the village. The loop then turns back east between sheep pastures with oaks and junipers, through a quiet residential area and over open fields into Skäret nature reserve, where it passes the Grytvägen car park on the way back to the start. Add Skäretslingan and you have a walk of about 8 km.
Along the way
- NabbahögarnaBronze Age burial mounds with a fine view toward Arild and Kullaberg
- The shoreridges of rounded stones and sea stacks in the bedrock, shaped by the ancient Littorina Sea
- Birdseiders and oystercatchers; in spring and autumn many seabirds and waders rest along this coast
- Kulla fäladNabben and Skäret are remnants of the common grazing land that once covered much of the peninsula; early-purple orchids grow on Nabben's limy pastures
- Skäret's pasturesold oaks, stone walls and clearance cairns, and with luck a rare all-black adder sunning itself on a stony islet in the fields
Good to know
- Reserve rulesin Nabben and Skäret, keep dogs on a leash and leave the grazing animals in peace (sheep usually graze some of the pastures in summer); camping, fires, grills and drones are not allowed
- Adderswatch them from a distance: they are venomous and can bite
- Terrainrocky in places along the shore, so not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers
- CaféFlickorna Lundgren is usually open only in summer; at other times bring your own food and drink
- New loopit dates from 2024–25, so older maps don't show it
